HOUSE OF LIBERATION

This project is dedicated to affirming and reclaiming the humanity of Black and Brown folk, who live and exist outside of heteronormative expectations, which includes those of us who may or may not identify as LGBTQIA+ or same gender loving.

 

We will achieve this by cultivating a supportive community that’s intended to liberate the hearts and minds of those of us who have been pushed to the margins of society, as we actively engage on working towards our individual and collective liberation.

 

Throughout the duration of this project, we will support our community with transcending the limitations that have been imposed upon us, by deconstructing the false narratives, self-defeating ideas and dehumanizing rhetoric that so many of us have internalized about ourselves, individually and collectively.

 

This project will begin, through the curation of our virtual monthly meetings, which will provide our community with an opportunity to engage in various experiential processes that will challenge how we see ourselves and each other.

The House of Liberation is rooted in love, empathy, compassion, tenderness, honor and dignity. These values, which are also ways of being, are intended to repair the harms that come from living under oppressive conditions, in which we are forced to endure the adverse impact of the various iterations of white supremacy.
